The workshop leverages consensus about the merits of all-IP networks to kick-off a six year Grand Challenge moving network interconnections to internet protocol by June 15, 2018. Speakers address aspects of this idea that remain controversial as well as the benefits in terms of operational expenses and the opportunity engage the public in the Grand Challenge via new services like HD voice.
